Ultrasound Update
On January 5, 2010, I had another ultrasound, at BC Womens Hospital in Vancouver, to look at the babies head. Other than discovering the baby was already about 6lbs. 6oz. the news was very good. The doctors are saying that baby now looks normal and other than a few tests (head ultrasound and neurological testing) that they would like to follow baby up with after birth, I am done with ultrasounds!

Ultrasound Update
Another trip to BC Women's Hospital has revealed that the heart "issue" seems to have resolved itself, thankfully. The doctor's didn't detect any missed beats on this ultrasound. However, the enlarged ventricle in the head is unchanged. A brain specialist came in to look at the ultrasound and after finding what look like a few blood clots, is wondering if there may have been some previous bleeding in the head at some point in the pregnancy. On Monday, I am having some blood work done to look into this possibility and to also screen for a possible blood disorder. We are scheduled to head back to BC Women's for another ultrasound on Jan.5, 2010.

Visit to BC Women's Hospital
We had our ultrasound at BC Women's Hospital on Tuesday, November 17 (see the pictures below). We were well taken care of , had an hour and fifteen minute ultrasound and spoke with two specialists. The fetal cardiologist believes the heart issue is being caused by an enlarged valve hitting the wall of the heart and causing missed beats, but would like to look into this further. We also spoke with a fetal specialists regarding a new concern in the babies head. Apparently, the left ventricle in the babies brain is enlarged and they would like to look into this further as well. So, these two issues will take us back to BC Women's Hospital for a further Echo and ultrasound on Dec. 8.
